Château La Croix St. Vincent, 2014, Pomerol, Bordeaux, France
Since 1978 the award winning Leydet family have been producing a little known second wine called Château La Croix Saint-Vincent. That was little known until we stumbled across it. Made from the exact same blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec as their top wine, but this is aged in a mixture of new and seasoned oak for a slightly shorter fifteen months. The result is a fruitier, aromatic, vanilla-laced Pomerol at a very reasonable price.

Nicolas, his mum and dad (and their dog, a little white fluffy ball called Falka) are the only employees at this winery. Their wines are made with vegan practices, fermented in stainless steel using only natural yeast and cultivated in a sustainable manner.
