User Research Privacy Policy

Where this privacy policy refers to “Deliveroo”, “we”, “us” or “our” this means the relevant Deliveroo group company processing your personal information for its own purposes, each acting as an independent controller unless stated otherwise. See the “Deliveroo Group Company details” section below for more information.

Deliveroo is now part of the DoorDash, Inc. group of companies. This means that from time to time and where necessary to provide our services to you, DoorDash, Inc. is also a controller relating to your personal information and the processing described in this policy.

Please read this privacy policy that explains how we use and protect your personal information, which is any information about you or that can be used to identify you.   

This privacy policy applies to all participants involved in our user and market research activities, such as offline and online surveys, in-person research sessions and including research conducted through analysis of information we may  already hold about you (“User Research Activities”).

Information we collect about you

As part of our commitment to the privacy of the participants to our User Research Activities, we want to be clear about the types of information we collect about you.

Use of your information

We use your information in a variety of ways, as described below, and only where we have a valid reason to do so.

Communications

We may use your information to let you know about future User Research Activity opportunities that may interest you. We may contact you by email, mobile messaging and phone. You can opt-out of these communications at any time.

Retention of your information

We will only retain your information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, and for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. In the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you, we may retain your information for a longer period.

Sharing your information

We share your information only where necessary for the purposes set out in the “Use of your information” section above. 

In particular, we share your information with other companies within the DoorDash group to help us conduct our User Research Activities.

Transfers of your information

Deliveroo is an international business and we may need to transfer your information outside the United Kingdom (UK) or European Economic Area (EEA) to help us provide our services, such as to India or other countries where we may have operations.

Security

We adopt robust technologies and policies to protect your information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your information to those third party providers and Deliveroo employees who have a business need-to-know.

Your rights

Depending on applicable data protection law and under certain circumstances, you have certain rights over the information we hold about you.
