News / Thanks a Bunch
Monday 20th May 2024. As the UK’s biggest flower event kicks off in London this week, Deliveroo has announced a special giveaway to celebrate its growing selection of florist partners across the UK, with 140 local florists now delivering flowers to doorsteps including the popular PM Flowers, Flower Station (Marylebone), Floritta Flowers, F for Flower and The Flower Gallery.
The on-demand delivery app is giving away free flower bouquets from local florists (excludes bouquets from supermarket partners)worth up to £50 to customers who have a floral or botanical-inspired first name. It’s great news for customers with names such as Rose, Rowan, Lily, Poppy, Basil, Daisy, Iris, Linden, Violet, Jasmine, Florian, Flora, Holly, Ivy, Lavender, Peony, Willow and Fleur*, who could be in with the chance of bagging a bunch of their choice.
Floral and botanical inspired names have been popular for more than a century and continue in popularity today with Lily, Ivy, Willow, Daisy, Poppy and Jasmine all appearing in BabyCentre’s most popular baby names of 2023.
To be in with a chance of winning a free bouquet, customers with any of these names are invited to email thanksabunch@deliveroo.co.uk with their full name, email address and postcode associated with their Deliveroo account before midnight on 25th May.
300 winners will be randomly selected from all eligible entries and notified via email with their voucher on or before 31st May. All fresh bouquets can be claimed and ordered by winners from their local participating florists via the Deliveroo app or website (see notes to editors for instructions)**.
Suzy McClintock, VP of Retail and New Verticals at Deliveroo, said: *“There’s nothing better than receiving a surprise bunch of flowers which is why, at a time when flowers are front of mind across the nation, we wanted to take the opportunity to surprise and delight our customers whose names have floral connotations.
We are proud to have almost 150 florist partners on board across the UK, enabling super swift flower delivery in as little as 30 minutes and thanks to this new initiative, you might be able to get your hands on a beautiful bunch of blooms for free!”*
For Brits not blessed with a floral-inspired name, Deliveroo is running a limited-time money saving offer on flower bouquets from today until 30th June, offering a £15 saving when they spend £40 or more on flowers from any local florist shop on the app using the code FLORIST15.
Customers can order from any florist in the ‘Shopping’ section of the Deliveroo app, or online. Download the app here. App link will direct people to their device's app store.
