Deliveroo appoints Laura Hagan as Chief People Officer (CPO)

Monday 2nd September, London: Deliveroo today announces that Laura Hagan will join the company as Chief People Officer (CPO), taking up the position and joining Deliveroo’s Executive Committee.

Deliveroo’s Interim CPO Tony Murphy will step down from his interim role, and leave Deliveroo later in September to return to his work as an Executive coach.

Laura joins Deliveroo from fitness brand Gymshark, where she was Chief People Officer for the UK Founder-Led business. She was previously Chief HR Officer at global food solutions business Tate and Lyle and Chief HR Officer at global technology company Dyson and a member of the Executive Committee at both companies. Laura is also a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee at FeverTree Drinks plc.

Laura’s appointment comes at an important moment for Deliveroo, after hitting two milestones in H1 2024 - delivering positive net profit and generating positive free cash flow. In H1 Deliveroo continued to expand its Grocery and Retail presence - driving awareness and increasing selection as well as innovating in the Plus loyalty programme, making progress towards becoming a ‘Plus-first’ business by 2026.

Will Shu, CEO of Deliveroo said: “I’m pleased to welcome Laura to the Deliveroo executive team. Laura brings a wealth of experience from Gymshark, Tate and Lyle and Dyson. This Deliveroo team is the best that I have ever worked with since founding the company and I am excited to partner with Laura to continue to strengthen and develop our teams. Our people are critical to our success as we continue to innovate, expand across new verticals and deliver profitable growth.

“I’m very grateful to Tony for leading the People function for the last year and a bit and for the progress he’s made in that time as well as his contribution to our leadership team.”
