28 June 2022: Deliveroo has more than doubled its number of restaurant partners in Nottingham since the start of the pandemic and is seeing huge growth in orders as it continues to expand across the UK.
Customers in Nottingham can now order from over 780 different restaurants on Deliveroo, with the likes of Vietnamese restaurant Viet 80, French restaurant Le Mistral, and Neapolitan restaurant Pizzamisu Nottingham’s newest additions to the app.
Deliveroo is now seeing more than three times the number of orders compared to March 2020, highlighting the continued popularity of getting Nottingham’s favourite restaurant and takeaway dishes delivered to your door in as little as 30 minutes. The growth during this period has been significant, with Deliveroo supporting over 1,000 new jobs with restaurant partners since the company began operating in the city in 2017.
Order data from Deliveroo shows that a ‘create your own’ Oodles Chinese box grabbed the top spot as the most popular dish in Nottingham, closely followed by Buns dirty fries and a Buns classic cheeseburger. A Chaiiwala Desi Breakfast, which includes a masala omelette, masala beans, rotis and a karak chai, is Nottingham’s favourite breakfast order. As plant-based food becomes increasingly popular across the UK, the most popular vegan dish in Nottingham is Wagamamas’ ‘Bang Bang’ Cauliflower.
While American and Italian food are the most popular cuisines in the Midlands, Deliveroo data shows that Nottingham is embracing healthier eating, with a 230% increase in healthy dishes in 2022 versus 2021. So far, the healthy dish of choice in 2022 has been the Wings and Wraps Peri Chicken Wrap.
Alongside supporting Nottingham’s impressive food scene, Deliveroo has also rapidly expanded its grocery offering in the city over the past two years, partnering with a range of independent convenience stores and big supermarket brands, including Co-op, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. Fresh produce has grabbed the top spots on the grocery scene, with top-selling items across Nottingham including; strawberries, bananas, avocados and cucumbers.
Deliveroo is committed to supporting the growth of small independent restaurants and has helped many partners implement new delivery services to sustain their business. One of its latest partners in Nottingham includes Pudding Pantry, an independent cafe that serves exclusively homemade goods.
Deliveroo Vice President of Regional Growth, Jeff Wemyss said: “Deliveroo’s growth in Nottingham is really impressive, and we are particularly proud of our role in supporting local restaurants and creating jobs. We are working hard to continue delivering customers their favourite local restaurants and groceries direct to their door, and we’re very excited for what the future holds here.”
Owner of Tamatanga, Aman Kular said: "Despite seeing the back of pandemic restrictions, we have found that demand for food delivery has continued to grow - people have become accustomed to ordering in their favourite dishes to dine in the comfort of their own home with friends and family. We've been on Deliveroo for seven years now, and it's helped us reach new customers as well as ensuring they get the best possible delivery experience when ordering from us.”
Marketing Manager of Doughnotts, Dan Byrne said: “Deliveroo’s continued investment and development into their platform and advertising campaigns have really allowed smaller brands like ours to be discovered, and it’s great to have it as an alternative way to get our food to customers who don't or can't make it into stores. Orders are definitely increasing, and there is consistent demand throughout the week, which has been great to see.”
