DELIVEROO INVESTS IN RIDER AND COMMUNITY SAFETY WITH NEW E-BIKE PARTNERSHIPS

Today Deliveroo announces two new partnerships with leading electric vehicle companies: Otto Scooters and PORT.

London, 14th August 2025:Today Deliveroo announces two new partnerships with leading electric vehicle companies: Otto Scooters and PORT. The partnerships are part of Deliveroo’s commitment to reducing the emissions from delivery vehicles, while also ensuring the safety of its riders by supporting access to quality and compliant e-vehicles.

Otto Scooter will provide at least 40 Deliveroo-branded e-bikes and 10 e-mopeds across London as part of the partnership. Riders who sign up with Otto Scooter will be able to access discounted weekly rentals, with up to 14% savings over 4 weeks, or 23% over 8 weeks on Otto e-scooters and e-bikes.

PORT, who have an exclusive agreement with Deliveroo, will offer discounted e-bike subscriptions to riders from 13 hubs across London, as well as a recycling scheme for non-compliant e-bikes and batteries. PORT and Deliveroo held a launch event at PORT’s Bloomsbury Hub earlier this week where up to 50 riders received a five week subscription free of charge in exchange for their non compliant e-bikes, or batteries, saving them £250. Moving forward, Deliveroo will provide 400 riders 50% off PORT weekly subscription for five weeks, saving riders £125 in total.

Paul Bedford, Director of Policy and Sustainability at Deliveroo, said: “We take our responsibility to protect both our dedicated riders and the public seriously, and we continue to evolve our offering to help create a safer environment for everyone. These new partnerships with Otto Scooters and PORT are a direct result of our proactive engagement with riders to find transportation solutions that work for them. We are committed to finding a way forward with e-vehicles that benefits all, and this is a step in the right direction.”

The new partnerships demonstrate Deliveroo’s continued commitment to ensuring rider and community safety. In 2024 Deliveroo partnered with London Fire Brigade on its #ChargeSafe campaign, to provide riders with information on ebike battery safety. In the same year Deliveroo also held 30 face-to-face rider engagement events across the UK and Ireland in order to promote road safety for riders and other road users, giving riders access to free bike maintenance and safety information.

Richard Field, London Fire Brigade Deputy Assistant Commissioner said: *“E-bikes and e-scooters are one of London’s fastest-growing fire risks so it’s vital that companies like Deliveroo engage in partnerships like these that provide riders with safe and legal vehicles.”

We were pleased to work with Deliveroo on campaigns like our #ChargeSafe campaign to educate their riders on how to use e-bikes safely. This helped us to provide safety advice directly to riders, raising awareness of the risks in order to prevent serious incidents. We encourage all companies with an interest in e-bikes to take the same approach to ensure safety advice is reaching even more people.”*

Beyond these e-bike partnerships, Deliveroo has delivered numerous other initiatives to support riders, including but not limited to:

  • In 2022 Deliveroo formed an industry first partnership with the GMB, providing Deliveroo with a forum to regularly discuss issues of rider safety with union partners

  • Right to Ride Safely campaign: calling on the UK Government to include better protections for delivery riders in its upcoming Crime & Policing Bill. It has been backed by GMB, one of the UK’s largest unions, the British Retail Consortium, and UK Hospitality, along with 30+ restaurants and retailers

  • Discounted MOTs and parts through KwikFit

The partnerships with Otto Scooters and PORT represent a key pillar of Deliveroo's broader efforts to reduce its Scope 3 emissions (as reported in its 2024 Annual Report) making it even easier for riders to access more sustainable and affordable compliant e-vehicles.
