Deliveroo for work / Food for thought
With nearly two years of remote working, it’s only recently that we’ve been allowed to return to the office and get back to some sense of normality.
As staff have fallen in love with the idea of working from home on a flexible basis, some businesses have found it challenging trying to encourage staff back into the office more frequently, especially on Mondays and Fridays.
Don’t worry you’re not alone, in Envoy’s most recent survey they found that 88% of companies are now using incentives to get their workers back on site.
Here’s how you can get your team back together again:
Yes you guessed it, food perks are one way to encourage those hunger bellies back into the office. From organised team lunches to office goodies, we are firm believers that food is an important part of any work culture.

Does your current rewards package meet the expectations of your employees? With employee rewards becoming a huge part of the decision making process for employees when deciding on a new job, benefits that go beyond their paycheck is vital.
Why? Because employee perks add value to their role and also help improve motivation, productivity, morale, retention ,acquisition and recognition efforts.
Although for many companies working from home wasn’t an option before Covid, it is now part of our new normal with more employers switching to hybrid working. For both employer and employees, there are many benefits to hybrid working, so can promoting a hybrid culture be beneficial?
The short answer is yes. As there's less pressure to be in the office all the time, you’re communicating to your staff that they can be trusted. Other benefits include; less time and money spent on commuting, lower office maintenance costs, improved work-life balance/wellbeing, increased productivity and improved staff retention rates.
There’s nothing like face-to-face interaction. It’s safe to say we’ve all experienced zoom fatigue, so it's now time to collaborate in person. People are more engaged when together and it’s easier to bounce ideas off each other instantly, which is a huge benefit for teams working on projects.
In our recent post-pandemic work survey, 68% of our clients said that their office space is absolutely essential or very important to their working culture - let’s get our teams back together.
Patience is key in the return to the office, as most employees will be encouraged to physically make their way back to their workplace. As mentioned earlier, people have fallen in love with the idea of remote working, so the challenge is letting them see the benefits of being in the office.
Many businesses have tried to incentivise the return to the workplace but it all boils down to patience, as if you force this on your employees you may be pushing them further away. With additional concerns over health and safety, you will need to refine your workplace strategy to ensure all precautions and plans are in place to welcome employees back to the workplace.
