Champagne and Sparkling

  • Crémant De Loire Brut Domaine Des Hauts Perrays

From a small family-run Domaine in the heart of Chenin Blanc territory, (Coteaux du Layon) this is a beautifully crafted Crémant de Loire. Traditionally made (bottle-fermented) sparkling wine which is vinified from a large proportion of Chenin Blanc, with some Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc - all grown on a mix of schist, clay, and quartz.
    £23.00
  • Nyetimber NV Classic Cuvée Brut

Good intensity, ripe citrus, quince, yellow plum with nice autolytic notes coming through, biscuit, nut and bread with just a touch of something floral. Clean and bright on the palate with rich citrus again, biscuit and toast, great freshness, very pure with excellent length.
    £49.95
  • Pol Roger White Foil Brut Champagne NV

One of the great classics, this is another firm favourite of ours and consistently very high in quality. It's not just us that love it - at the last three Royal Weddings its Pol that has been popping to help the celebrations, and famously Winston Churchill had a real passion for Pol (a pint a day some say!?). It is no surprise to us though as 'White Foil' - as its fondly known - never fails to satisfy. This cuvée is the definitive house-style and makes for the perfect aperitif. It is made of equal portions of the three Champagne grape varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, time and attention to detail are the keys here. This is traditionally composed from 30 still 'base wines' and a blend drawn from at least three different vintages, all adding complexity and sophistication to this perennial winner.

  • Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut NV

Possibly our most popular of the Grandes Marques - Bollinger is undoubtedly one of the very best. Extensive ageing and blending of several vintages ensure the house style and high quality never falters. A blend of 60% pinot noir, 25% chardonnay and 15% pinot meunier; the weight and suave feel is gorgeously textural and satisfying. It is no wonder the Cinematic James Bond only ever drinks Bollinger. It is totally charming and dangerously good.

  • Barnaut Grande Réserve Brut Grand Cru, Champagne

95% from Grand Cru vineyards of Bouzy, with just a touch of Ambonnay, 67% Pinot and 33% Chardonnay. Lemon freshness leads into a fullish palate with balance and brightness to support the confident weight and full flavour. No edges, easy breadth and harmony. Like all the Barnaut NV cuvées, it is based on a perpetual reserve (started in 1874), so that each harvest is added to the reserve, and half is then bottled, leaving the other half to be the reserve for the following year.

Rosé

  • 2024 MIP* Classic Rosé Made in Provence

The iconic Provence Rosé is back. Light, dry and crisp, this is summer in a glass.
    £22.50
  • 2024 L'hydropathe Élite Rosé Côtes De Provence Sainte Victoire Domaine Des Diables

This wine with its rosewood coloured robe has a subtle nose which is pure, straightforward and harmonious, combining notes of red fruit with the soil's inherent minerality. Round attack on the palate with pleasant balance and a full-bodied and persistent finish. ldeal accompaniment for mixed grills, spiced dishes (stir fry, paella, couscous) or simply as an aperitif.
    £32.50

White

  • 2024 Touraine Les Sauterelles Domaine de Pierre, Lionel Gosseaume

Filled with notes of gooseberry, cut grass and gently dried herbs, including dill and tarragon, with just a hint of something floral.
    £20.50
  • 2023 Mâcon Vinzelles Cave des Grands Crus Blancs

Nice clean lines with a present mineral underbelly is neatly balanced by well-weighted fruit. Pear and firm peach are kept nicely lifted by enough acidity to keep this very drinkable. Impressive weight and intent for a White Burgundy at this price-level.
    £24.50
  • 2022 Chardonnay Santa Barbara County Land of Saints

This wine is definitley imbued with some Californian sunshine, as you have the classic aromas of ripe peach, melon and vanilla cream, but in the mouth it has such freshness and purity, with a creamy toffee apple note, backed by ripe citrus and saturated stone fruits. Medium weight and wonderfully judged, it's like a Maconnais wine with an American accent.
    £33.00
  • 2023 Château De Tracy Pouilly Fumé

The wines of the d'Assay family are rightly lauded for the high quality and incredible consistency they deliver and this release is no different. In their youth the wines are taut and pure, with aromatics of youthful green fruit, gooseberry, citrus and a hint of that characteristic gunflint. In the mouth that shape is continued and the crispness of the fruit makes the mouth water, lean and fresh, with mineral drive and tension. It is well worth popping some bottles away to drink in a few years, when everything loosens off and the fruit enriches and matures into elderflower and white currant and something distinctly herbal can start to be felt.
    £44.50
  • Puligny Montrachet 2023 Domaine Berthelemot

Fruit comes from two plots. 27% new oak. Touch of reduction on the nose but a bit of a swirl in the glass reveals white flowers & orchard fruits. Feels leaner than previous wines. Quite an elegant, delicate style. Precise and to the point. Textbook village Puligny.

Its another delicious, great value Rhône from this celebrated estate for drinking all year round.

  • Fleurie 2023 Clos de La Roilette

Aged in century-old oak casks. Less upfront and fruity than the Brouilly, this shows classic strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant fruit. The fruit is compact and powerful, with good length.
    £36.95
  • Bourgogne Rouge 2023 Pinot Noir Domaine Remy & Fils

Round and supple - easy to love right away. Good dark cassis character but ripe too - and really sexy. Long - a touch of soaked raisin perhaps - but nice feel. With good fresh spark too and just enough grip and frame to keep you coming back impatiently.
    £29.95
  • 2023 Lytton Springs Ridge Vineyards

Although Ridge Vineyards began in the 1960s, wine has been produced at the site under the name 'Monte Bello Winery' since 1885 when Osea Perrone bought 180 acres of land near the top of Monte Bello. The winery passed through a couple of owners until 1960 when it was bought by four Stanford Research Institute engineers, David Bennion, Charles Rosen, Hewitt Crane, and Howard Zeidler, who produced its first commercial vintage in 1962. Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel account for the largest percentage of the wine produced at Ridge, and it is famous primarily for its reds.
