Second Breath is our first foray into using the hop product Mega Terps from Freestyle Hops. This little gem of a pellet is a custom blend of Southern Cross, Motueka And Rakua, combined with Phantasm's magical thiol precursors. This blend of Thiols, Terpenes and Esters helps dial up the unique flavours and aromas you expect from NZ hops. To help showcase this, we decided to use a classic trio of Motueka, Nelson, and Pacific Jade. Dominant impressions of latte coffee with powerful chocolate aromas in the nose. The alcohol esters are enveloped with hints of autumn wood, citrus zest (orange, lemon) and freshly baked biscuits. The initial taste is sweetly sinful. Beer and chocolate trapped into one single glass, a liquid milky draught with a backbone of bitter malt. Herkenrode Vesper is one of only 23 official Belgian abbey beers and the winner of the Silver Medal at the 2018 Australian International Beer Awards. Vesper was created by Cistercian nuns at the Herkenrode monastery, which was founded in 1182. It’s a true and tough Belgian triple, With a 9% abv, a nice bitterness and a lightly cognac aftertaste. The beer is brewed using only 100% Saaz-Saaz hops, malted barley, water, yeast and herbs grown at the Herkenrode Abbey itself.£7.50Huyghe - Delerium Tremens 8.5% (330ml)
The allusion to pink elephants and the choice of names is not due to chance. With a particular character, the unique taste results from triple fermentation and the use of three different yeast strains. Winner of the Gold Medal at the 2018 World Beer Awards, Kriekenbier Wheat is a traditional Belgian cherry beer brewed since 1977 at our craft brewery in Opitter, Belgium. It combines a hint of cherry with our refined Limburgse Witte wheat beer. The cherry juice we use is from cherries grown in Haspengouw, Europe’s premier fruit-growing region. The cherries go directly from the field into our brewing kettle. There is no other beer quite like Kriekenbier Wheat.£5.50Lindemans - Cassis 3.5% (355ml)
