Beautiful Verdejo from La Mancha in Spain. Lovely and fresh - but also with a little textural quality which makes it a versatile food wine. The nose is made up of ripe white melon & stone fruit whilst the palette gives good weight & depth.£17.45Gavi 'Fornace', Cinzia Bergaglio

Harvested from the grape variety Macabeo, Microcosmico is a serious wine - not that giving on the nose - but bursting with concentration on the palate. Expect apples, dried herbs, and a salty mineral finish. The grapes are grown on limestone soils, giving characteristic elegance and finesse. Fernando Morra started bodegas Frontonio along with his friend Mario Lopez in 2010. This tasty Gruner comes from the Kamptal region of Austria. Grown on impossibly steep terraces, the southerly exposure helps ripen the grapes, and the steep slopes of these uniquely positioned vineyards help to keep the soil well-drained vines dont like having soggy roots! The wines are certified organic, and the vineyards are grown on Granite soils which gives the mineral edge to the wine. This is such a pure and vibrant expression of Chardonnay. Its bright and fresh, with notes of lime, white flowers and just a little hint of texture. Beaujolais is best known for its juicy red wines, but the appellation laws do allow for white wine to be grown and it takes the form of Chardonnay. The Soils in Burgundy, Chardonnays more famous home further north, are mainly limestone, whereas in Beaujolais the soils are more granite giving the wine extra freshness and vibrancy.£33.48Txakolina, Flysch

Pedra a Pedra Branco is a deliciously dry blend of two native Portuguese grape varieties - Rabigato (52%) and Gouveio (48%). It is a marvellous partner to fish dishes and a wonderful example of the potential Portugal has as a wine making country.£24.30

Judith Beck crafts some of the best value wines known to mankind in Burgenland, Austria. All farming is done organically and the wines are perfect examples of the fact that you don't need to spend silly money to get some of the finest wines, carefully crafted with love, care and attention. A serious yet elegant take on Garnacha here. The Microcosmico is grown on slate soils lending the wine a linear, fresh quality. Bright red fruits, crushed red flowers and beautiful length. A beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz blend from Hartenberg in Stellenbosch that is full of aromas of black cherries, mulberries and raspberries underpinned by notes of cassis and subtle hints of white pepper. The finish is prolonged with fine yet grippy tannins.£24.30
Orange Wines
Tragolargo, Bodegas Vinessens
A great introduction to word of skin/contact orange wines, this has floral notes, orange zest, and spice. Very elegant indeed, with an orange-hue from some time the wine spends on skins, which also adds texture and richness. Certified organic wine.£25.92Pinot Gris, Craven Wines
Like a cross between an orange wine and chilled red, the wine is a beautiful burnt brick/copper colour. It's super-fresh, juicy, and perfect refreshment for warmer days.£29.16Malvazija, Piquentum
This is a really rather beautiful orange wine that might just be one of our favourites this year. Light-skin contact with the skins means this is a lighter-styled orange wine, a great candidate if you are exploring orange wines for the first time, but so delicious that a seasoned orange wine glugger will find much to admire. Hailing from Buzet, Croatia, the Malvazija grape creates a wonderfully textural wine, full of interest and complexity.£31.32Burja Bela, Burja
The burja winery is about 20 km from the Italian border and fruili region. Producers such as gravner and radikon started making waves with their skin contact wines here in the late 90s. The flysch soil and the vipava valley exist on both sides of the border, and we just fell in love with this wine from the burja estate where the wines are heavily influenced by the great tradition of skin contact winemaking in fruili.£37.80Zold, Weingut Schmitt

This is a very special wine - a truly vibrant explosion of aromatics! Here, Riesling is produced in contact with the skins, amplifying Rieslings natural aromatics to a new level. The wine bursts out of the glass with freshly pressed apricots, ripe peaches, mango, blossom and spice, all woven together with Rieslings trademark mineral-zing. Bianka and Daniel Schmitt started their small winery in 2012, and have quickly grown to be one of the leading lights of Germanys natural wine scene.£43.20Fratelli Felix Bianco, Vigneti Tardis
Sometimes wines come along and one just cant understand how they can taste so great and be so affordable all at once. This is one of them. Buy a case. It's a blend of Fiano and Falanghina from Campania in the south of Italy where the Mediterranean climate brings bright tropical fruit. The vineyards are at altitude so the wine stays nice and fresh. And there's the proximity to the sea bringing a natural saltiness to the wine.£21.06Chinuri, Iagos Wines
A great entry point to the world of Georgian amber wine - with notes of baked golden apples, ice tea, dried mango, and jasmine. Its rich and honeyed, with smooth tannins.Made in the traditional Georgian way - the wine spends six months in Qvevri - giant clay pots, buried underground - which helps give complexity and a beautiful golden hue.This is a truly versatile food wine - try it with Biryani, or a mezze spread.£29.16
Sparkling Wines

This is a lovely, fruity style of Champagne. Whilst most champagnes are dominated by the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, this is made with predominantly Pinot Meunier which gives a more fruity and approachable style of Champagne.
